Yellow Daisies

I picked a few of these small daisies and just plonked them in this vase to stand on my window ledge...but decided to paint them first. I like the shape of this small vase and I find yellow a difficult color to paint sometimes, so thought it would be a good challenge for me...and It was!!

Another very nice surprise..."Olive Snack" was selected for FASO's Fav 15% in theApril Boldbrush Competition....I can't believe it! That is the second one, It is really encouraging!

More daisies! I really love the white ones...well... anything white really!! This set up actually started out as a full vase of daisies until I got my viewfinder out! I started cropping in and this composition really appealed to me.

My smaller paintings are still taking a back seat until I finish bigger ones for a joint exhibition in October. 

Three finished...another three to go!!

I love limes and white daisies and both are from my garden! These were on my kitchen bench with strong sunlight coming from the window behind...I didn't even set them up.... just painted them as is! It's so easy when still life happens like this!!!

These daisies were swaying in the breeze along the beachfront...all that was missing was the music!!  I love the violet color of the petals and the bright green leaves...brightens up the day!!

I have had a rest from painting this weekend, but still like to do some drawing! Both the limes and daisies are from my garden...an easy setup! It's nice when I don't have to look very far for subject matter and it's even better when I can use these delicious limes growing just outside my door!

These pink African Daisies grow in my garden and flower most of the year. They brighten up my studio even if they are only in a tin can! I had these sitting on the bench with strong sunlight coming from behind, with no thought of drawing them! I noticed  the way the  shadow  leads your eye up to the flowers...today's drawing done!!

Another little pot my friend gave me...I have painted the turquoise  and pink ones,  this is the last of them. I love them all and will no doubt use them again in my paintings! The daisies are from my garden and I will probably paint more of them too! I love small pots with just one or two flowers...like to keep it simple!!

I love these daisies that grow wild along the beach! I have walked past them before and thought about painting them... this day was perfect! It was very calm and cloudy but the light was bright, I love the soft colours in the flowers against the vivid green leaves!
