New Keys

6"x6"Oil on board

The Daily Paintworks challenge this week is to paint a tool of some kind...these aren't exactly tools but one of the keys opens the door where the tools are kept! The blue and gold keys here are new ones we had cut... never had a blue key before!

Complimentary Cottons

6"x6" Oil on board

SOLD

Back on the cotton theme again... complimentary colors look so good  and  appear brighter when placed next to each other and I love this blue/orange combination! I am enjoying painting these and still have more to do, but like to  paint other subjects as well so sometimes there will be flowers, animals, food and landscape...all the things I love!!
This is much clearer when viewed in person, for some reason I could not get a clearer photo...I adjusted the settings on my camera and tried all sorts of things but nothing worked!

Pin Cushion Pot

SOLD

Back on the sewing theme again! I saw this little pin cushion pot in my neighbours sewing box and loved it so much that I borrowed it and dressed it up! It fits in nicely with my cotton series.

Gift Ribbons

8"x6" Oil on board

I found this small clothes hanger in our local craft shop, so I bought it to hang the ribbons that I use when I gift wrap my small paintings before shipping them to their new owners. I loved all the colors together and like painting ribbon...so I painted it...and enjoyed every minute of it!

Glamour Girl

6"x6" Oil on board
SOLD
A commission for a lovely collector who has two other of my animal paintings. This is the first time I have painted a horse and really enjoyed it. I loved the color of this mare and she was very friendly but not in any hurry to pose for me, I had to wait quite a while ... and in the end it was worth it!

Kalamata Olives

6"x6" Oil on board
SOLD

I love olives and these lovely big Kalamata ones are so tasty! I had to paint them them...I like the shape, color, shine  and the way they stand out against the white dish. I think I liked painting them as much as I like eating them!!

Pot of Peppers

6"x6" Oil on board

I have more cotton paintings in the pipeline ...just having a change! I have been wanting to paint one of these  terracotta pots that my husband Bill makes, this has a beautiful blue glaze inside and looks especially good with the mini peppers.

Cotton Colors

6"x6" Oil on board
SOLD

More cottons! This is my favourite in this series so far...I've had these metallic threads for a long time, I used them for sewing beads on to dyed silk fabric...since I don't sew anymore, this is a perfect way to use them! I love the colors and the way they shine.
