Avocado and pepper from the Farmers Market...more food I love and so delicious together!
I have gone back to painting with oils, I gave the water soluble ones a try because of not having to use solvents but I have found I can use ordinary oils without solvent. I use an odourless medium and clean brushes with sunflower oil. Super easy!!

Brush Off

6"x6" oil on gessoboard
These old worn paint brushes had been given the 'brush off' a long time ago. They have been well used over the years and sitting around  the studio, but before I get rid of them I thought they deserved to be painted! I used water soluble oils for this and I am gradually getting used to them. They seem to be more transparent then regular oils and very intense colors so it's just a matter of being a bit more focused when I mix my colors. I think I will stay with them!!

New Brushes

Drawing #63
Graphite and pastel

A short post today! I am busy with a few flower paintings at different stages.
A drawing of my new brushes I bought when I was on holiday in Australia! The black one is a Neef, it's a little more expensive and is my favorite. The other two are Isabey...nice to paint with as well!

A Brush with a Brush

6"x8" Oil on Canvas
SOLD

This weeks  Daily Paintworks challenge is to  use two complimentary colours....a favourite combination of mine is blue/orange...especially for mixing greys. I used orange made from cad red and cad yellow light, ultramarine blue and white. These brushes have been well used!
