Still Morning

6"x6" oil on board-click to bid

Sometimes I like a change, so got out a palette knife to do this one. This is a familiar scene I see so often when I walk around this place. There are trees everywhere and l love the skies here. I used a brush to do the sky the rest is the knife. I enjoyed it but the brush wins for me!

Lemons

6"x6" oil on board - click here to bid

It's been a while since I have painted, life has been busy again!! I can always fit a mini one in and I haven't painted still life for quite a while so I was able to use a favorite turquoise bowl with lovely fresh lemons as my subject. This is for sale on DailyPaintworks and there will be another two coming up! The image is a bit darker than in life, I had trouble finding the right light to photograph it.

These were the last three roses I picked this month before the middle of winter. Unusual for any blooms at this time of year! I think they deserved to have a portrait painted!!

Found this Heron wading in a rock pool on one of my early morning walks.  White birds are my very favorite to paint but I enjoyed painting this. They are a very dignified looking bird!

Birds Fishing

6"x6" oil on board

I saw these seagulls fishing along the shoreline on one of my morning walks a while ago. The swoop and follow the fish along. I am often amazed at the sights I see when I take my time to really look at my surroundings.

Last still life for a while...changing to animals and landscapes! Learning is always continuing, I like to keep improving and changing subject matter seems to help me do that.
