Cooling Down

6"x8" Oil on gessoboard
$90 with display easel

Ordinary People

I was on holiday in Western Australia when I saw this couple at a beach, sitting in the water with their dog trying to cool down. It was extremely hot and seemed like the only way to stay cool...even the dog hardly moved!!

Sunday Morning Walk

8"x6" Oil on gessoboard
$90 with display easel

Ordinary People

This painting is the first of my 30 in 30 for the Leslie Saeta Challenge. My theme is Ordinary People...I have been out with my camera taking lots of photos for reference and have been lucky to be able to use  some images from  talented photographer Jules! I saw this man out walking his dog and loved the fact that even though he had to use a mobility aid, he still went for a walk!!
I will try to  to finish one every day even though my house is in the middle of renovations...here's hoping!!!

Ready and Waiting

6"x6" Oil on board

Another from my holiday photos. The image isn't a very good one I'm not sure what went wrong but this is the best I could do! It looks much better in life. This was outside a cafe in Sydney, I had been watching this small dog trying to get his owner to move.... obviously he  was sick of waiting and ready to go!
I didn't paint with my usual palette for this...thought I'd try something different so I used burnt sienna, ultramarine blue, yellow ochre and white.
