Summer Fruits

6"x6" Oil on board

At last I have finished another painting! This is the first time I have seen a lemonade apple and it was not easy to paint!
Some days are harder than others to get going. I lack inspiration. I feel a failure for not painting.  I am bored with the subject, I can't be bothered, it seems too hard...the list goes on!! Well I have a found a couple of simple daily habits to train my brain to associate it with work mode. It is simple...my painting apron goes on first, then I turn on music or a podcast. That means 'work time'! So far it has been working very well, my brain is taking notice!

Strolling Oystercatchers

I love the birds, they have such character! This is from a small study I did last year...I came across them strolling along the beach when I was out walking.

White Delight

6"x6"Oil on gessoboard

I started this rose painting for the  Daily Paintworks Challenge in May, we were in the middle of moving house, so it has sat here until  I had some spare time to finish it!! The name came about because  I love white roses.... or any white flower for that matter! It feels good to get back to painting again, now all I have to do is wait for my studio to be built!!

Raven

6"x6" Oil on gessoboard

Daily Paintworks Challenge this week ...to paint this black Raven without using black! This is painted from a reference photo. I really had to look hard to find other colors and never used any black at all!!  My palette...ultramarine blue, cad red light, cad yellow lemon, burnt umber, a touch of cerulean blue and white. Great challenge thanks  CJ!

Brie,Cherry Tomato and Basil Boat

6"x6 Oil on board
SOLD

Some more of my favourite food!  I took quite a while to set this up, initially I had the whole basil plant, but decided on just one leaf so I could sit the tomato in it.... a boat came to mind when it came to the title! I used the same palette as the two before this and I'm lovin' it! So many colours!
