New Studio

No small painting today...time for blocking in larger ones.
A couple of years ago I took  part in a Blog Carnival where all involved showed photos of their studios. Since then I have shifted house and have another studio, so I thought I'd share a few photos...it's not as big as my last one but it has all that I need to paint and it's lovely and sunny!!

This is the main area I work in  with my easel and new taboret  that I love!!! A daylight lamp for when the light isn't so good on a dull day and my computer  moniter for enlarging photos when I use them to work from.

Over the other side  I have my bookshelf full of art books.... and canvases ready to paint.

At the back, is a  storage cupboard for more canvases and still life objects, my small paintings shelf and a couch for when my art friends come over!!

Last but not least my mixing area with my glass palette. It's all pretty simple...the way I like things!!!

Izzy Dressed for Deco

6"x6" Oil on gessoboard

It is our annual Art Deco festival here this week where we travel back in time to an era of glitz and glamour. Everyone dresses in the styles of the 1920s and 30s. Last year I saw this Chihuahua all dressed up with her big gold bow...she was so cute and such a poser, I couldn't help myself, I had to take a photo so I could paint her for this years celebrations!!

Art Class

8"x6" Oil on gessoboard
$90 with display easel

Ordinary People

This is another one of the ladies in the art group I go to each week! I kept it simple and left out the table  where she kept her paints and palette. I was running out of time and it was just too much detail for a painting this small!!

Ordinary People

I'm a bit late posting this, I ran out of light to take a photo. These two ladies discussing this work are from a lovely art group I paint with every week. It's always nice to get out among like minded people instead of being stuck away in a studio!

Coffee with Judith 1

Day Sixteen-30 Paintings in 30 Days
6"x6" Oil on board

I bought a set of four  Gustav Klimt coffee mugs when I opened my studio a few years ago and whenever friends come over to paint we use them! Judith 1 is my favourite... my goal in this challenge is to paint life around me and this is part of my art life! I had fun painting this one there is quite a bit of detail...I lost all track of time!!

Bottled Pencils

8"x6" Oil on board
Some more work tools! I don't use these pastel pencils  much  nowdays...sometimes when I sketch I will get them out. When I was cleaning out my art cupboard I thought it a shame to have them shut away in the cupboard.... so put them in a jar, painted them and  loved every minute of it!
