Winter Rose

6"x8" oil on gessoboard
$100+s/h
Time for a change!!  I have two winter roses growing in my garden, they are so delicate...one is pink but my favorite is this green one.  I like being able to  pick a flower whenever I pass by  to stick in a jar or bottle and place in my studio.... often this leads to a painting like this one did. Keeping things simple...just the way I like it!!

  1. This is really lovely Karen! I haven't heard of winter roses before - what makes them different to normal roses?

    1. Thanks Wendy! They are called Lenten Roses as well but they are actually Hellebores, not related to roses. They flower in winter.
