The Daily Paintworks challenge this week is called Quick Christmas challenge. I haven't entered a painting for a long time and wanted to use a palette knife and have a bit of fun...so here is mine! It is the flower from the New Zealand native coastal Pohutukawa tree...it flowers from November until January and is known as our Christmas Tree.
This is beautiful Karen! you've done a great job with the palette knife. What a lovely native Christmas tree. I am planning to photograph one of our native Christmas trees to post. Ours is fluorescent orange!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy. They are lovely vibrant flowers, but I like the sound of fluorescent orange!!
DeleteThis is great Karen! What a lovely, richly coloured flower to have as a Christmas Tree. Really like the textural feel you've captured!
ReplyDeleteThanks Helen.Yes our trees look beautiful when they are in flower. I am enjoying playing around with the palette knife, but a looong way to go before I feel comfortable with it!!
