Good Looking Cherries

6"x6" Oil on gessoboard
$100 +s/h
Buy now

The title for this came from my first thought when I saw these cherries at the Farmer's Market. They are a lovely bright red,  sweet as can be...and they look even better in  my little green bowl!
I am getting back into the swing of painting  after the holiday break at last!!!
I have also started going to life drawing classes once a week...I think the importance of drawing to hone the eye is essential to express the gesture and feeling of the subject. The quick timed exercises are great practice!!

Mini Pumpkins

6"x8" Oil on gessoboard
SOLD

Mini pumpkins from the Farmer's Market! I placed these on my printer until I was ready to set them up, but the bright back light streaming through the window looked good enough so I painted them like they were! The color is better in real life...sometimes the camera doesn't get it right!!!

Pair of Peppers

6"x6" Oil on gessoboard

More from the farmer's Market! Had to buy these because of the colors...they complement each other so well, not only in painting but in salads too and yes.... purple and green are two of my favorite colors!! The purple looks so much better in life, the photo has made it look too dark!

Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes

 6"x6" Oil on gessoboard

A quick little painting of these cherry tomatoes I bought at the Farmers Market! They remind me of traffic lights. Still managing to do some small daily paintings between the larger ones!!

Red Onions

Drawing #6
Pen and watercolor sketch

This sketch was done very quickly because I was running out of time. My idea is to do a drawing  every day for this year and not to do any ahead of time if I can help it...so some days there will be simple quick sketches like this one! I have four  sketch pads.... watercolor, pastel, oil and plain paper. These red onions were bought at our local farmers market and are delicious when cooked with the heirloom tomatoes in the previous post!!

Yellow Plums

Day Twenty-30 Paintings in 30 Days
6"x6" Oil on board
Another  purchase from the Farmers Market! These plums are the sweetest and juiciest  I have ever tasted and their skins are almost translucent...I wish I had bought more!  I was short on time today and nearly didn't finish this...stress!!! There are 10 days left...I have felt pressure at times while doing this challenge, but manage to get there in the end!!
