Hydrangea

10"x8" oil on gessoboard
$150

It seems I had forgotten to post this one I did a few weeks ago. I have been so busy getting a new art studio built. I picked this hydrangea from my garden and went straight in and painted it! I love anything white to paint especially flowers and birds...finding all the colours is a treat!
Now that I'm settled in my studio I feel the need to do some more study on colour and application of paint...I have become stuck!

Summer Fruits

6"x6" Oil on board

At last I have finished another painting! This is the first time I have seen a lemonade apple and it was not easy to paint!
Some days are harder than others to get going. I lack inspiration. I feel a failure for not painting.  I am bored with the subject, I can't be bothered, it seems too hard...the list goes on!! Well I have a found a couple of simple daily habits to train my brain to associate it with work mode. It is simple...my painting apron goes on first, then I turn on music or a podcast. That means 'work time'! So far it has been working very well, my brain is taking notice!

Marsh on the Mud

6'x8" oil on board

Late afternoon sun always brings lovely light and color over the salt marsh... even the mud looks good with the spots of sunlight when the tide is out!! It is one of my favorite places.
It's been a few weeks since my last blogpost...the reason is my new art studio that my husband is building for me and I might add he is doing a fantastic job! I should be in and organised in a couple of weeks and no more disruption. I can't wait!
