My last work for our exhibition finished!! Next to the Spoonbills the Kingfisher is my favorite bird... they are only small but their colors are gorgeous! I was so lucky to get close enough to get a good photo because they don't hang around for long when there are people nearby.
Now... back to painting whatever I feel like and exploring different techniques...the place where I love to be!!
Love the colors of this bird. He is stunning!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on getting all your work done for the exhibition Karen! Your kingfisher is beautiful! You really have a talent painting birds - and everything else for that matter! It is great that you are now free to follow your heart with your paintings!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy! It is a good feeling to be able to do whatever I like:)
DeleteMasterful! The colors in this are so beautiful. I have not seen a kingfisher since I was a teenager, but the amazing flash of color stayed with me as it was beyond belief, somehow.
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing something so beautiful - so well!
Thanks Julie, I see them quite often but getting a photo is tricky, they are the most colourful birds around the Estuary here, I love them!
Deletewhat fabulous color! the turquoise and green and so close in value and harmonize beautifully! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love their colors too. Thanks Mary!
DeleteAll of the oohs and aahs are well deserved! What a beautiful painting, Karen! Congratulations on all of these lovely exhibition paintings! The gallery is so lucky to have your artwork grace its walls.
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris, I am always a bit nervous before an exhibition. I guess that is normal! I still really love painting my small ones and am glad to be able to get back to that and experimenting with a palette knife. It's about the journey isn't it.
