Kingfisher

My last work for our exhibition finished!! Next to the Spoonbills the Kingfisher is my favorite bird... they are only small but their colors are gorgeous! I was so lucky to get close enough to get a  good photo because they don't hang around for long when there are people nearby.
Now... back to painting whatever I feel like and exploring different techniques...the place where I love to be!!

  3. Masterful! The colors in this are so beautiful. I have not seen a kingfisher since I was a teenager, but the amazing flash of color stayed with me as it was beyond belief, somehow.
Thanks for doing something so beautiful - so well!

    1. Thanks Julie, I see them quite often but getting a photo is tricky, they are the most colourful birds around the Estuary here, I love them!

    1. Thanks Chris, I am always a bit nervous before an exhibition. I guess that is normal! I still really love painting my small ones and am glad to be able to get back to that and experimenting with a palette knife. It's about the journey isn't it.
